Airport pick up by one of Green Pathways expert guides before boarding a private shuttle to the Colonial City of León. You’ll be dropped off at the beautiful Hotel La Perla, where you’ll enjoy a sound nights sleep.
We start the day off with a morning excursion to the mangrove forests of Juan Venado Island Natural Reserve. We’ll head out by boat in search for an array of wildlife from crocodiles, birds to raccoons. On the tour, your guide will teach you about the critical role mangrove forests play in maintaining biodiversity.
We’ll enjoy lunch at the small beach community of Las Penitas before heading north to the mountainous area of Matagalpa.
You’ll enjoy a night surrounded by lush rainforest and the calls of the wildlife at the Selva Negra eco-lodge.
Let’s take an early walk in the cool cloud forests in search of sloths, howler monkeys, agoutis and a variety of bird species.
After lunch and a relaxing afternoon we revisit the cloud forests, but this time at night to catch a glimpse of owls, kinkajous, and the singing frogs. After the hike we make our way back to Selva Negra eco-lodge for the night.
Today we drive to the colonial city of Granada. You’ll have the afternoon to yourself to explore the sights, smells and flavours of Granada before retiring to the Hotel Patio del Malinche, where you’ll be enjoying the night in one of their beautifully maintained guest rooms.
After an early breakfast we will visit the cloud forest covered Mombacho Volcano. With the knowledge of a local guide we will explore the “Crater Trail” a walk that features stunning views, lush forest, wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, reptiles, deers and many different types of plants, fungi and orquids.
After lunch, we take private transport followed by a ferryboat to the beautiful volcanic Island of Ometepe; Its name derives from the Nahuatl words ome and tepetl, meaning two mountains. This twin volcano island sits in Lake Nicaragua.
Tonight, you’ll enjoy stunning views of Lake Nicaragua from the Hotel Finca San Juan dela Isla where you’ll be staying the night.
We’ll have a full day to explore the island. Starting with a hike to the San Ramon waterfalls through tropical dry forest, then onto the fresh waters of “Ojo de Agua” for a relaxing swim before heading back to Hotel Finca San Juan de la Isla for the night.
After a relaxing morning on the shores of Lake Nicaragua we return to the mainland then onwards to the world-class spa and resort, Mukul for a relaxing finale to your vacation.
