Why is a student Desk so Important?
Every day, up to 70% of children in Malawi struggle to learn while sitting on the ground. Giving them a desk empowers their educational journey and fuels their dreams for the future. It has proven to be a useful and practical way to make a change in the school systems that struggle to survive.
UNICEF USA & MSNBC’s LAWRENCE O’DONNELL in Partnership for this Ongoing Program
Join UNICEF USA and MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” in an ambitious campaign called K.I.N.D.: Kids in Need of Desks to provide desks to eager young learners. To date, the program has delivered desks to more than 900,000 students, but in order to reach every child, we need ongoing support.
Did You know you can Give to a Future? You can Donate RIght Here
Learn more about K.I.N.D. on MSNBC’s “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.” who spearheaded the project and has been its spokesperson since it began. To date, the charity has built and manufactured desks and benches for as little as $27.00 with schools all over the country benefiting from both the economic boost as well as the social change that a generation of children will promise.
By making a tax-deductible donation to UNICEF USA today, help support the next generation of education in Malawi, paving the way to a brighter future.
Or, support scholarships for young women in Malawi. This has been life changing for many of these young women who otherwise would be married, raising children with less than a high school education. Now with the scholarships, they can dream about a future and contribute to their country.
