Mauritius Island is a holiday paradise, especially if you’re looking for romance. It’s a small country off the East Coast of mainland Africa near Madagascar.
Africa catches the traveler with its scenic beauty, its people and its wildlife.
I recently got back from my trip to Mauritius Island and it was absolutely spectacular! It’s a fabulous country if you want to be spoilt in a 5-star luxury resort on your Mauritius honeymoon with spas, pools, amazing friendly staff and locals, or if you want to try something new and have an adventure.
It’s generally a very long flight from most parts of the world, but it’s worth it if you can afford it!
I cannot praise it enough. We got to ride Segways in the African safari-like park, pet zebra, cheetah and have a private walk with lions for a whole hour.
We went scuba diving, rode a sub-scooter, wakeboarding, kite surfing and swimming with wild dolphins… oh my goodness… and the country side is stunning!
Completely surrounded with reef and beaches, in land you can find the most bizarre mountain formations and also jungle and lots of vegetation. There is really only one word, WOW.
Mauritius Island was my 99th country and I went away saying I would not hesitate to go back, as it is now at the top of my list.

At 14 she was pulled out of school to travel the world before returning home 4 years later to graduate from high school.
